DISPLACEMENT – REMEMBRANCE

This is the model of a rural monastic chapel made by a man named Tudose Ion, born in 1938. He was a monk in a monastery in Moldavia, northern Romania. In 1958, the communist regime of Ceausescu closed the monastery together with many others around the country and he had to escape to Ghighiu, Prahova county, in the South. He worked there the rest of his life and realised this model of the monastery.
